It really is the worst. It astounds me when smart people I know who normally like shows like Breaking Bad, The Wire, and such pronounce their undying LOVE and ADORATION for that show. Simply ridiculous.

I think its a great show...but like most shows of its sort, it starts out really strong but then grows in popularity and then gets driven to the lowest common denominator.

The early episodes were really good but lately it has fallen off--but it ends up in that limbo where people have fond memories and keep watching it even if they were to have started with the current episodes, they probably wouldn't have any interest.

But whatever...the producers and actors are now cashing it in and that's the american way isn't it

We did not do very well this weekend. Failed to accomplish most of what needed to be done. Blown up by a sister-in-law in the hospital and a wife who has been dragging her feet a lot lately, due to certain very justifiable reasons that I'm not quite authorized to talk about just yet. So the old house still is not ready to be put on the market, I still don't have the shelving I wanted to install, numerous other projects at houses new and old still need done. Dammit.

Been there, done that. It took a while to get our house ready-to-list. Actually, forgot to mention this: Our renters approached me about buying the house, and it sounded like things were going to happen. Called them Sunday, and they weren't as ready as they initially thought. ah well.

(...)
I made the executive decision just to cut back through and retrace our path all the way back. My wife and I were laughing about how we almost went further out and got even more lost - when we got to the conversation we had with the teen guys.... they did ask us a lot of specific questions:
"where did you hike in from?"
"where did you guys park?"
"what kind of car do you drive?"
about 20 min later as we were backtracking we see the three guys walking down the trail and they were totally silent as we passed them... my wife and I smiled... but it was eerie because just a couple hours earlier they were nice and full of questions.
(...)
by the time we got back its that creepy feeling getting into the car of the dark empty park/forrest parking lot. the second you open and close the doors and the interior light turns on and your basically blind to everything outside - to the drive back to the highway where its just pitch dark on all side except the what the headlights are illuminating. You look into the rearview mirror and its just blackness.

Spooooooky. I would have freaked out.

ah yes, the dude from big bang theory. show isnt horrible, but its not on the level of any great show. just a reliable cheap laugh churner outer like most network comedies.

The missus wants the dvd boxed set...

I can "watch" it, in that I don't mind it being on while I'm doing homework, but I'd really rather not pay 100+ bucks for something thats available for free (well, already paid for) on netflix.

I'm trying to make her to dislike it by loudly explaining all the nerd/geek references while she's trying to watch it, which has made her hate a number of shows in the past... Hopefully it works. If not I'm just going to continue to be too broke for a while.

Hopefully you're not doing too much to the old place. Chances are that whoever buys it from you will want to change a bunch of stuff anyways.

Couldn't you just work out some sort of rent-to-own style of contract with them until they are able to get a proper mortgage?

that bumpy **** on the ceiling. I used to pick it off as a kid

A lot of things you've posted suddenly make a lot of sense.

(You know the stuff that makes it bumpy is extremely hazardous, don't you?)

Went to Next Day Blinds yesterday to price roman shades for the upstairs bedroom and bathroom windows in our house. 11 windows in question. They only have them in these awful polyester fabrics, but we founds something I could live with.

Price: almost $8,000.

Are you ******* kidding me, Next Day Blinds? Are you on ******* crack? You know I can find these online for like $150 each, right?

Almost sucks as much as Neo_Version7 does on your average Saturday night. Almost...

I lol'd.

For this post alone if I'm ever in NYC we will get drinks. If I was to write up everything I hated about that show and go into detail, I might do erictheobscure proud. I'll just summarize though: absolutely ludicrous characters; faux intellectual jokes -- nobody talks like that all the time, sorry; awkward acting; extreme stereotypes.

I ate lunch today because I got hungry. I never really eat a lunch. It made me feel like ****. I am sitting here bloated, heartburn, and tired. I don't know how you people do it.

Have some alcohol with Lunch. It does wonders for the digestion.
