[Like a moron] I chase him down, tackle him, and start fighting (honestly, I only wanted to stop him but the guy starts swinging). Get my ass kicked (not badly but I was definitely losing). We stand up and before I know it he pulls out a gun. Cant tell if it was a toy or it jammed but he pulls the trigger several times and I only hear clicking. Anyway at the point I tell him something along the lines of, "ok man, you win" and he splits. I cant tell if the girl got her bag back but I don't remember him having it. Nonetheless the block is deserted and my uber pulls up. Never been so glad to enter a limo.
Anyway, no longer shaken up but the idea that it wasn't a toy but possibly a real gun that jammed just crossed my mind and has me slightly freaked out again. Dunno if I should feel stupid or not for trying to stop a purse thief.
Funny too that this happened in one of the nicer parts of town (Dupont) but I guess that's where to go to steal purses.
might want to get to a emergency room and have a look over. you never know what kind of injuries you've sustained, because once the adrenaline kicks in you might not feel it. simple things like runny noses after a fall could actually be cerebrospinal fluid leaks because of a skull fracture. minor aches and pains might actually be broken bones/torn muscles or ligaments, and confusion and headaches could be a concussion or serious brain injury.
