Why do you say that? I think a group of people, even teenagers, is taking a bat off of you. They are then using it to beat you worse then they would otherwise. Plus, most hallways are too narrow to get a good swing, you'd likely end up just beating your walls or furniture.
There was a break-in down the street from my parents house where they entered through the garage (broke into his car and clicked the opener). They beat the guy up pretty badly as he tried to defend himself. If he used a bat or knife he would have probably went to the hospital if he were not killed.
Douglas, they should have a patrol car 24/7, IMO. There is one very nice neighborhood in Trenton that I'm aware of, and they patrol 24/7 with multiple cars. Not that unheard of if they want to maintain residents that are willing to take the risk of living there.[/quote]
I cannot disagree with what you say . Going up against a group of people who wish you harm is never going to be easy . It is just that there seems to be a trend in the reliance on firearms for home protection and I personally would discourage that . I think the sense of false bravado is reduced when the option is to either go at someone with a bat or run
