So one of the lights in my office has gone dark. I have two others that are still operational, and thankfully they are the ones over my desk. the bad light is over my file cabinet, bookshelf, and visitor chairs. I have a reputation as a person who handles most things on my own, and isn't afraid to holler when I want assistance. And, FWIW, I speak to our go-to handyman maybe a dozen times a day, both professionally and personally. We've been here the longest anyway, so we have each other's backs.
Despite this, people all day long have come to my office and told me that I should call my counterpart to get this light fixed. I'm looking for the humor in all this, but they all seem earnest and good-natured and completely unable to guess that I've already talked to the person who handles this and gotten it scheduled. And if it wasn't a blown ballast I would have gotten the ladder and bulbs and fixed the fucker myself.
