Saw the aftermath of a skiing accident on saturday (bunch ski patrol tending to the victim, etc.). Looked pretty bad but seemed like everyone was intact and they just didn't want to move him. The next day, they were out taking photos of the accident site which isn't something I normally see.
Talked to my mom last night and she mentions that a friend of hers' son died in a hospital after a skiing accident in the nearby city. Wasn't clear which ski area it was and when the accident had actually occurred since it happened in a hospital.
Now it comes out in the news that it was the same guy
...I'm used to seeing ski patrol bring down people with broken bones, but not stuff like this, especially not experienced skiers on easy terrain. And there I was, I having beers on the chairlift and skiing down the same run hours later.
