I'm pissed off I didn't get to read the beating that took place here in last 20 posts or so in real time.

For the second or third time this week I got only three hours of sleep. I hate the feeling that I might slide into Donnie Darko-like hallucinations.

I seem to only be able to use the pronoun "we". I need some more time away from my wife once in a while.

I guess I should be happy that I have a stable, full-time job that I (for the most part) like.

However, I just got notified of my annual pay increase for 2008, when in the middle of last year I took a new position with increased responsibilities, and received winks and nods that I would be compensated accordingly... 5%. WTF. In the past 2 years, I've gotten 5% increases (we don't do cost-of-living increases). I don't earn enough that 5% will have ANY effect on my quality of life--in fact, with all costs going up, it's an effective non-increase.

I hate to whinge, but I'm ******* angry right now. Anyone looking for a publications coordinator?

I know what you mean. wait, the "we" goes from representing two to representing more.

"Uh... why are we throwing out boxes and boxes of perfectly good plastic coffee stirrers?" "Haven't you heard? The company's going green -- we're using the wooden ones now!" "So... instead of using them up, then throwing them out -- we're just... throwing them out?" "Don't you get it? They're bad for the environment!"

There is a big white dry erase board in the middle filing cabinent island thing by our office bays. The girl on the company "Green Team" from my department printed out copies of ways to be green or some **** like that and put them on our desks and taped them to the board.

I took my, taped it on the board too and wrote "Wouldn't emailing the list and writing this on the board instead of wasting paper have been more green?"

A lot of this being "green" malarkey is useless posturing to make people feel better about themselves.
