One of the medium sized counties I practice in has a glorious courthouse. It's from like the 1830s and looks amazing. It is a pleasure to try cases in front of a jury there. Feels like Inherit the Wind style trial. Like old school fucking lawyering.
One of the best things about it were the bathrooms. Oh em gee. These were probably added in the 1920s and it feels like going back in time. Marble floor. Wood paneling. Heavy wooden doors. The doorknobs were fuvking heavy iron or lead or something. Like Conan heavy steel. Absolutely beautiful.
I haven't been there in about six months. I know they were renovating the lavratories last time I was there and that's good. The one sink was leaky (omg the sinks! Separate hot and cold water! Marble backsplash!) the paint needed work, and the lights needed to be replaced.
I get there today...
I can barely go on I'm so heartbroken...
The once glorious bathroom has been completely redone. No more marble. No more steel. No more wood. I wish I had pictures of it from back then so you could appreciate it.
Instead, those beautiful real wood bathroom doors (probably oak) have been replaced with fiber ore. Those fucking heavenly heavy door knobs have been replaced with this.
I'm completely heart broken. You fucking disabled fucks who can't turn a handle. You fuvking code enforcement officers. This is the kind of unintended consequences from trying to pass laws to help the fucking weak.
You've ruined something beautiful. And you've made the world an uglier place. Fuck you.
