Yeah I was thinking more of the impound people. Those guys are dicks.

True story: I paid my only impound bill in $1 bills. That I had them lying around the house (bound in $50 stacks) should signify nothing.

Yeah but you just named a bunch of asshole professions.
Teachers are less likely to be assholes than tow truck drivers and prison guards.

I've met some pretty decent tow truck drivers in my day.

around here they're mostly drug dealing dickheads. HA has their hands in a lot of that stuff around here. Also, they're always young guys who want to think they're tough as **** and drive like an asshole. I despise tow truck drivers

That is a lot of cheese to not have sorted out. In all seriousness, is this account business personal. If it is personal, then given the amount of the deposit you should talk to your branch manager about getting a private banker. This would/should give you a higher level of service
It's certainly not the people at my office. What is it with the people at your workplace?

I don't know. They are creeps. There are also a lot of "cliques". It is like high school.

My office is just like high school, and this question is often asked.

Never pay your impound or ticket fee in cash. There's a good chance that cash will be stolen by a disgruntled employee and they will mark the fine as not having been paid. Then you get picked up and arrested while speeding six months later and you have no check or proof of payment other than your word and a receipt written by an illiterate who no longer works there anyway.

I understand and appreciate your desire to cause them discomfort by having to count out Washingtons, but it's not worth the potential aggravation.

Had to go the upper west side in the rain only to be handed a pamphlet at the office I went to and told that the office I am looking for is in midtown east :fu:. Couldn't they have, oh IDK, posted this information on their website before I went all the way there?!?

I hear ya there and have discouraged the wife from paying cash through the mail as she used to do. That said, the impound lot would only take cash, and the $1's were at the house ready to be deployed. Trust me, if I could have paid via check or credit card I would have gladly done so and avoided waking up the wife.

Is it just my office or is every workplace concerned with what each other eats for lunch every day? I always have people snooping looking at what I might be eating. If it is something out of the ordinary they always have to comment on it. This one lady comes over and asks me every day what I am eating. What is wrong with people? I ask her why she is so snoopy about what I eat and she got really offended.

Omg this drove me batshit at my old office. Ugh. So obnoxious ask me what I'm eating AFTER I'm done not looking over my shoulder while I'm trying to get my eat on.

Got behind in this thread. Want to say two things:

Run flat tires. Ultra performance doods with their M5s will scoff. The rest of us should have them.

Depositing big cheques: anything over 10k gets held for X number of business days. Last time I deposited a major cheque, at a credit union that holds my mortgage and has known me for a decade, they released several thousand after a day or two, several more after a few days, and the rest after the end of a week. I think it has to do with terrorism and Elliot Spitzer type stuff.

I don't know that they are more assholish than the general population. 90% of every occupation is full of assholes. Teachers are no more likely to be so than police officers, chefs, politicians, auto repairmen, etc.

You just lumped teachers in with 4 large concentrations of assholery.
