fittingly, the same uncle was going to wear both suspenders and a belt until he was persuaded not to.

Was at a restaurant for my company's sell weekend for kids who received offers. I head to the bathroom to wash my hands after eating a hamburger. The bathrooms are set up such that there's a main room you enter with a countertop and sink and the men's and women's bathrooms are in the main room.

Anyway, I enter the main room and it reeks of feces, so I let out a loud "ugh!" and then turn the corner to see my boss changing her baby daughter's diapers on the countertop... she says, 'sorry.. I'm changing ____'s diapers." I immediately apologize for 'intruding' on her and her daughter and go wash my hands.

I felt like a ******* ass.

Why does this **** happen to me?!

So much hate for living in England, I swear the second you enter a ****** neighborhood everyone just seems to be in some way marsupialed or inbred. Was sitting in the dentists office waiting for my appointment, had a 20 year old pregnant girl with her rough as **** middle aged boyfriend talking to some obese woman who ran into the room panting who wore her bicycle helmet for the enitire time I was there, about how in love they were, but how **** living in council housing is and discussing how depressing living with eczema is. There was also a huge fat farmer man who couldn't have been younger then 50 with his girlfriend who couldn't have been older then 20 and there was this guy who was basically brick from anchorman with his chavy as **** carer. Need to get out of here.

does anyone really want to come off as a super pretentious low level wall street douchebag? it's like you're a second-level guido who really wants to be on jersey shore.

after spending these past 4 days with my family i've realized that the relentless pursuit of empty material possessions and meaningless status is pretty awful.

meh. I thought you thought I was a douchebag because I was a dick to people on the forums and whatnot. But since that's not the case (for the most part, I think), I feel relieved.

Let's break this scenario down:
a) Yes, I'm extremely proud of my accomplishments. I thought I was going to be unemployed for a long time but I managed to land my dream job through networking and sheer effort. No nepotism. No connections, nothing. So **** you if you're going to hate on me for gloating on a forum for my accomplishments. And honestly, dude, this forum is FILLED with members who make a **** ton of money and convey that in their own ways. I just happened to explicitly state my finances.
b) Any car enthusiast worth his salt knows that BMWs simply are the best handling luxury cars. I'm a car enthusiast. I bought the exact model car I've been wanting for a long time and thought I deserved the treat because of my job. But all you see it as is a status symbol because you probably don't care about cars and, thus, don't know jack **** about them. Cars are my #1 hobby and passion. I ******* love them. I can talk about cars for days on end. I drive for the sake of driving.
c) All you know about me is that I drive a used, entry-level BMW, make a certain amount of money, and was seeking job search advice for quite a while. That's only a slice of who I am and I can see how that easily paints a picture of me being a douchebag. All I know about you is that you're in your early twenties (like me) and are going to grad school for English. You also seem like a very bitter person with no real direction in life and are using grad school as a means of postponing life before you realize your English degree is worthless -- that is, unless you make a career out of academia, which is next to impossible in the English department (from what I've read heard).

The funniest part about all this is that I've never directly exchanged posts with you up until this point, so the fact that you came out of the woodworks, guns ablazing with so much anger really is interesting. I'll make it explicit: I do want to make a **** ton of money. I want to be able to afford amazing cars, live in a nice house, pay for my kids' college tuitions, and enjoy financial freedom. Who the **** doesn't want to?

Hey, let me ask you one question: don't you have credit card debt?

you have a one-dimensional personality. you are immensely insecure about your job. you made literally hundreds of posts asking meaningless etiquette questions that my 5 year old little brother could answer. 'i sent a power point and it wasn't perfect and my boss sent me back some solutions WHAT DO I DO??' 'i've been at my job for 4 days and nobody is my BFF YET holy ****!!!'

i could very, very, very easily go on.

i might be getting an MA in history (not english btw), but at least i have enough common and professional sense to be able to take criticism in the real world and apply for jobs without someone holding my hand every step of the way.

also i'm glad you were able to land your job through 'networking and sheer effort.' welcome to being an adult. pick up your gift bag at the door.

and honestly, i'd be less bothered if the possessions you were flaunting were actually nice. im really glad you bought a used bmw, you can park it next to the 5 other college students on my block that have one.

ps: if you want to have contest comparing life accomplishments and succeeding against adversity.. i'd win.

Green Frog, I have nothing against you, I just think it's odd how you said you got your dream job without connections, yet you claim you got it through networking. Isn't that what networking is?
