Great on your quiting, you CAN do it.
It might sound bad but my way of doing it was to tell all my friends that I was doing it thusly, being a complete ego maniac, I could not allow myself to fail. It was certainly a challange but everytime I saw a friend smoking I would think that I was just that slight bit better than he/she was. I would also play a game to see how long I could hold out before having to break down and have a smoke, it wasn't all that long before the craving would go away and I would just wait to play the game again. Lastly, when I really noticed how amazing the addiction was it just added that much more of a drive to quit. It was almost comical if it wasn't so draining that something I thought was cool when I was a teen could have such a command over an otherwise self-centered person.
Others do it in different ways but "commanding" myself to win was the biggest factor for my success. I didn't really care for my friends back then and I care that much less for them these 7 years later. It has slowly become LC and I against the world but we are fine with that.
Reverse cold turkey was easier than straight quiting.
