Well, this is a two-part answer. Part (1) begins in April/May. That's where I've recovered from the winter season and am starting to think about building up my base. I'm thinking that by the end of summer I should be comfortably running 50-60 miles/week, with Sunday long runs of 13-15 miles. Been there, done that. This time around, I'm not even remotely close to those numbers. Each time I think it's feasible but life just gets in the way - particularly the kid situations. Late nights, 2:00 wake-ups, ER visits, etc. etc. etc. They're starting to fade now but not having the mileage base is eating at me, like it's not really a priority any longer. I can bang up to 13-milers in a few months but...
Part (b) is that I've still got 3 CPA exams looming. I'm 1/3 of the way through the big book (1100 pages) and am planning on sitting exam 2 in October, which leaves four months to bang out the other two exams since my exam window closes in February. Not sure re: extendability but one of my CPA references is getting way up in years and I can't put this off. Mornings these days start with about 15-20 minutes of email/FB, then about an hour of studying, then maybe a 30 minute run, then I start getting ready for work. This morning the studying ran 2 hours, I skipped the run. I was kind of stupid for registering at all in the first place, I should have known better, but I wanted to do it all. This time last year I was in two evening classes as well as the daily workload, with a 1-year-old in the house. It doesn't seem like things are substantially different between last year and this, but here we are.
