Yeah I didn't mean to come across as taunting or not understanding rdawson - just that the whole story sounded familiar... We have another wedding pitfall that's irritating me right now: We have a pretty good friend who is an event planner. We have seen her work and it is really, really classy, elegant, and beautiful. We are fans. However, she's fairly high-end and we expect therefore pretty expensive. We are on a shoestring budget. We were planning to do all the planning ourselves. In the original cut, I was going to cater the event myself (obviously hiring some help but directing all the various machinations, renting the equipment myself, etc). So we've sort of known we'd have to have a convo with her at some point to explain where we stand, and why we weren't going to ask for her help. In the course of all this, we did have a discussion with some other very close friends who had used her for a few events. We were asking them, just for background, what her costs were like. We thought we were pretty clear that this was a private conversation. Anyways, the other day I get an e-mail from her saying "Hey I was talking to R and D and they said you wanted to talk to me about your wedding - let's set up a meeting time to get started!"
