..stay downtown and check Paul Stuart, Syd Jerome, Neimann Marcus, Mark Shale, and George Greene...outlets are hit or miss...Nordie Rack as well..drive to Gurnee Mills (1 hr north from the Loop) and take your chances at Last Call,Off Fifth

Is the outlet in Chicago that bad? No Zegna, Etro, Last Call, Saks Off Fifth, Barney's outlet there? Some good deals if you know were to look, but for a quick visit it might be tough to find a great deal... confused.gif

We have Saks Off Fifth and Last Call, but not at the Aurora outlets.  I've never been to either because they are all the way out in Gurnee.  It's been years since I was at the Aurora outlet mall, but BB and RL were the big tenants there and were filled mostly with made for the outlets crap.  I don't recall Zegna, Etro or Barneys outlets there and would probably remember if they were there.

Nore of those are at Aurora. Saks off 5th and Neimans Last Call are at Gurnee, but 99% of the time they don't anything good.

try Morris and son located near downtown @ 557 West Polk

A Sak's Off Fifth opened up recently near the Nordstrom Rack in Northbrook (about 40-60 minutes north of downtown, right off the Edens).

Some nice stuff, but not the biggest selection.  Not sure if it's worth the trip.

Which holiday weekend might you be referring to? I would definitely love a holiday in Chicago for that!

I'd usually go for Brooks Brothers or RL but there are times when I'll just have my suits tailored when I can't find the right fit or style.

if we are talking SF standards, yes. You are correct that great deals can be had if you have enough patience for the hunt. but for a quick visit and expecting a blockbuster, hit or miss..

I will be there May 18-27 ... which I believe is just before the Memorial Day long weekend ... who knows ... maybe there will be some pre-holiday sales.

I was in Chicago this week on business and I could have sworn I saw a Nordstrom Rack right off Michigan Ave as the taxi drove by.

You won't find any Zegna, Canali, etc. at the Aurora Outlet. The Neiman-Marcus on Mich Ave has Zegna, Canali, etc., but I didn't see anything under $2K. I believe the Hickey Freeman store downtown closed. There is a Nordstrom Rack downtown now, very hit and miss, lots of Ben Sherman suits last time I was there. In the Woodfield Mall area near IKEA, there is a Nordstrom Rack, Saks Off Fifth, and Bloomingdale's Outlet quite close to each other, the Saks had some Hickey Freeman, Zegna last time I was there, but not in my size (38-40R).

Some of these high-end store, the way you would be informed of their most current news about their store promotion is to sign-up for their email newsletter.

Is there a particular store that I should do this for?  Sorry ... I'm just going to be a visitor to Chicago and have no clue where to even look ...
