Hello Everybody,

 

This is my first post on this awesome forum!

 

I'm looking for a Fred Astaire style dark brown suede oxford, either brogue, semi-brogue or with a plain toe cap.  My budget is maximum $500 AU, hopefully $400 AU.  These Church's seem like the best option:

However, I'm a bit concerned that the English soles may be a bit hard and that the sole and heel will be a bit too raised for me.  I'm more used to Italian style loafers like Fratelli Rossetti.  Looking at this picture of Fred, it seems his soles are much thinner than a typical Goodyear welted construction,

Does anybody have some recommendations for a more sleekly soled dark brown suede oxford within my price range?  I am about a 7 UK fitting, at little wide but not particularly.

 

Also, does anybody know where I can find yellowy/gold laces?
