Hey to the few of you who live in Seattle I will be heading there for the weekend this week. I have a few questions for you guys.
1. Where would a good place to get a hair cut be, like one that can actually advise me on styling and getting a new hairdo.
2. Where are some good and somewhat cheap places to eat/drink? Ill be heading over with a few of my buddies so I imagine we will want to hit the bars at least one night.
3. Any good places to shop for clothes I should hit up?
4. Anyone want to meet up for a drink? TS? J?

I guess thats about it, I am heading over for mostly fun but I need to also check out a few of the asian travel agents for ticket prices for this summer.

If anyone can give an answer on the eat/drink item, I'd be most obliging.

1 As for hair cuts, I dunno, I haven't cut my hair since Tokyo '03

2 Eat: Well, if you aren't a vegetarian, you MUST try Red Mill Burgers. It isn't the cheapest burger in town, but its the best. Bacon Deluxe w/cheese, onion rings w/ranch, and shake of your choice around $12 - but you won't be sorry. Ezelle's Famous Fried Chicken, (take out) in a shady 'hood, but the spicy chicken is worth it. Its Oprah's favorite. Pagliacci Pizza by the slice can be found all over town. Mama's Mexican Kitchen in Belltown is great. Bimbo's Bitchin Burrito Kitchen is good (next door to the Cha Cha in the pike/pine corridor), Mori Japanese restaraunt/sushi place in Greenwood/Phinney area, Musashi's in Wallingford is probably the least expensive "good" sushi place I've been to in Seattle, but its not quite as good as Shiro's in Belltown.

Drink: Shorty's/Tiki Lounge in Belltown. Cheapest drinks in the trendy drinking area of downtown. Avoid Pioneer square bars unless you feel like paying a $10 cover on the weekends (and most weekdays). And $5 a beer (for bud light). Ugh. Sometimes they have decent rock shows down there though - pretty much the only reason to go down there. Up the Pike/Pine corridor, the Cha Cha Lounge is cheap but full of scenesters, Linda's is relatively cheap and pretty good. The Twilight Exit on Madison, also in sort of a shady neighborhood, but cheap beers and interesting clientel. The U-district/Wallingford has a plethora of decent bars, mostly of the generic "Irish pub" variety. Finn McCool's, Kate's Pub, The Irish Immigrant, etc.

When J gets back from Hawaii, he has a long list of bars and restaraunts that we've been to, cause doing it from memory is tough sometimes. We've been to a lot of restaraunts and bars.

3 What kind of clothes are you looking for?

4 I'd be down to get together. J is still in Hawaii, but I'm sure he'd be down to hang this weekend sometime. Perhaps we'll go out to Jillians and shoot some pool or something.

Definitely would be up to doing something. If you can be more specific on the clothing, I can give you some recs. For streetwear type stuff there was a really good thread a while back...

as for the haircut, I cut my own so I'm probably not much help. The only place I know of that's a "stylist" type place is where my friend used to go in high school, which is on Olive and... Bellevue? On Capitol Hill. It's across the corner from Starbucks there and the Stumbling Monk. But that's not much of a recommendation since it was at least 8-10 years ago.

Fremont is a nice place to go out, as the bars are cheaper than Belltown and (in my experience) younger, i.e. 21-25 rather than 30+. I've been at the wrong end of Belltown though.

The nicest thing about Fremont is the Red Door. $3 pints of Rainier - truly the Cristal[lino] of beers - in a nice setting, and one block from the Fremont Cut, or as my miscreant friends and I call it, the public toilet.

See, there's one I haven't been to!

$3 pints of Rainier sound like something J will have to take advantage of. I just hate parking in Fremont.

I'll second the Red Door recommendation. A lot of the drinks are expensive, but that's why they make Rainier. The bar staff are friendly and it's not full of douches most nights.

Good to know. I hate almost everywhere I've been to in Fremont except the Buckaroo, Brouwer's and occasionally the George & Dragon (when it's not packed with 'Jacks).

it's an aveda concept salon, and its nice. gary & manuel don't take any new clients... but the girl i always got my haircut from (deena) started at $45 when she moved to the main floor last year or so(?) i'm sure its not that much higher now. you can definitely call and ask.
