Here's my full navy shell from Faler. Waited so long for him to get the materials.

In the market for my first shell wallet, looking at a standard bifold. Chester Mox quoted me 500 usd for their #90 bifold in full shell unlined, 390 for shell exterior and calf interior semi-lined, 350 for shell exterior and veg tanned interior semi-lined.

A local (Singapore) company is selling mid length bifold in Shinki shell exterior and saddle leather interior for 320 usd, but less keen on it because of the mid length (5.5 inch).

What other sources can I consider?

How thick would a full shell bifold get? Any comparison pics between lined and unlined?

A shell wallet doesn't really need to be lined. There is plenty of thickness there already and it will feel quite substantial without lining. Chester Mox (Bellanie) would skive down the edges if you went with lined so it shouldn't add significant bulk... but I think that'd be rather unnecessary for shell (lining).

Depending on if the maker skives the edges or not as well as the thickness of the shell (it can vary between 2.5 oz - 5.5 oz). Chester Mox makes fantastic wallets and I think you'd be very happy purchasing a wallet from them.

Other options would be a machine stitched variant from Ashland Leather Company. They have shell exterior + standard interior for $225 or full shell for $300. The bonus with them is that at least one of the owners works at Horween so he has access to tons of cool shell variants... different colors, different prints. Probably the best option around for machine stitched.

Lots of other makers on Etsy selling shell cordovan items too at varying prices at varying quality.

@Deusis Not the best shots of the inner shell but photos really don't do justice to the wallet. If only that stamp was in full glory.

Anyway @Emospence, why don't you contact Jesse and see what does he has. Wouldn't hurt having more options to consider.

From his website, seems like he doesn't do full shell and his bifold is simpler without hidden card slots.. And everything out of stock

He has one at http://www.falerleathers.com/

Alternatively, you can send him an email directly at falerbrand@gmail.com

Might take him a while to reply though.
