2012 NO PURCHASE 'SAVE FOR SUMMER' CLUB - Page 3

I am bumping this thread back to life as we are now 1 month into the challenge.
Confessions? Updates?

Personally, I have been somewhat of a racoon for the last 26 years and my home is getting an entire makeover.
I have been fiercly busy (well not really) with tossing unwanted stuff and cleaning. Once this is done I will begin a monster cull of my clothes.
I may or may not do a collosal B&S thread soon when this happens but will first have to asses what is saleable.
I can say with certainty that when this happens there will be, literally hundreds of shirts and ties (probably 150 of each) and all nice stuff.
What is new with all of you on this challenge?

As soon as you start that thread I will fold...

But my progress is thus:

I have had shirts and pants tailored to fit the slimmer me

I have not made a purchase from SF or a store

I have been trying to buy some summer weight SC because a jacket I had ordered before this thread began still hasn't arrived and I am in the midst of a paypal dispute/judgment...

If that SC comes by the grace of some higher power then I could probably hold out, if not I still need a summer SC

MOL I've failed so hard. At least a few pairs of shell plus a bunch of random shirts and ties

I encourage you both to get back on the horse. Try to stick it our best you can. smile.gif
I am about to polish an old pair of Florsheim boots here. I think they are technically vintage now but the leather is in excellent condition.
There are at least 20 pair of shoes and boots I want to buy.....must stay strong..must...

I've gotten the kibosh put on my purchasing by the lady friend, so I am a late entrant into the club, but I will remain faithful till July!!!  A bunch of stuff needs to hit eBay as I have to purchase plane tickets and other things.

We are now in the home stretch......
This challenge officialy ends Thursday JULY 05, 2012 (11:59pm)

Am I the only one who made it to the end? Anyone still alive out there?

Made it with one exception... ok I know I'm 24hours ahead of the deadline, but not planning to throw my cash away today.
Anyway, did get me a small bag about a week ago because I needed to empty my pockets somewhere, but that's it, not even a pair of socks along with that. The main thought I went through during most of the three months, looking at the wardrobe, was that whoa there's a lot of clothing there and a) I don't *need* anything to complement b) don't have the time to wear half of what I got now. Good experience.

That being said, going to Milan next week, and I'm glad the NPC will be over pretty soon biggrin.gif

After my final purchase last week I decided to join the club. I will definitely not buy any clothes or shoes or accessories until my wedding ceremony is finished.

I'll join the club until the deadline.

The Save For Summer Challenge is now over.
I spent not one cent through it. I congratulate anyone out there who was successful and also all others for even trying. I'll start up a monthly challenge starting in September.

doughie, if you want to start a summer club, please be my guest. but I am personally resting until Sept.
