For Sale:
Unknown brand shell cordovan #8 long-wing brogues, size 8

Will Ship To: Anywhere

I picked these up at a flea market and after a few blister-inducing wears am sadly acknowledging that they're too small. I'm gutted. They've clearly been worn a good deal and show some clear signs of it, but cordovan is damn near bulletproof! There are no markings inside the shoe - neither brand nor size - but based on how they fit I'd say they're a US size 8. The only marking on the shoe is "Travelite" on the sole.

$80 shipped in the USA (inquire for international shipping).

Total length: 11.75"
Width at widest: ~4.65"

The shoes are not shell cordovan, more likely corrected grain given the creasing pattern.

Hm, I've been wondering about the nature of the creasing, but I'm skeptical about whether they're corrected grain leather, given:

Not sure about corrected grain, but almost certainly not shell cordovan.

Based purely on creasing? It's definitely unusual, but I'm fairly confident I've seen other cordovan shoes creased in such a way.

The color has the irregularity and depth I've seen in many other color #8 shell cordovan shoes.

I don't pretend to be an expert on the topic, though, so I'd love to hear some additional evidence for the confidence that these are not cordovan.

The creasing is the main reason I would say those are not cordovan. Also, look at the way the fibers are coming loose on the edges of the leather. The fibers of cordovan are much too tight to do that. Look at this picture of a corrected grain shoe and tell me if it does not look like the creasing on your shoes:

i am in agreement with the boys, those are definitely not shell, you will NEVER see fine creasing like that on shell. doesn't mean they're bad shoes, just not shell.

please give this one up. Not shell. On ebay they may not all know, here, 98% do.
