Who usually makes Saks Fifth Avenue branded suit? Are they usually worth buying for $700.00 in your experiences?

It's been a while since I stepped into a Saks, but the last time (about 3-4yrs ago) the Sales agent told me that Boglioli made their suits. I liked their european cut to them, but @ 700 it may be a little too high. YOu can do better on fleabay for a boglioli (if they indeed still make for saks). Also, the suits were fused, which people in SF tend to look down on (not me).

I tried a few on about six months back, and found the cut to be to large around the mid-section. I didn't try the european cut that Shiny mentioned though. The fit struck me as similar to some of the larger Brooks Brothers lines.

So the lapels are the only thing canvassed on RL Polo suits? I thought it was half canvassed chest piece included?

As I thought the Saks branded suits were half canvassed?

They also have Saks branded Zegna suits.. any idea on them canvassed or fused?

You can get one for ~$300 at an off 5th store if you catch the sales right. Can't speak much for the quality as I don't know. They are quite excited to display the Loro Piana and Zegna cloth labels.

I also bought 2 suits for 700 (bogo) offer and am wondering if it's worth keeping. It's a saks brand suit with Zegna cloth which seems decent. I don't own any high end suits and am just starting to built my wardrobe. Is this a fused suit ?

Be sure to note that Zegna fabric is totally different from Zegna construction. Ermenegildo Zegna suits are very nice. While Zegna fabrics are nice, anyone can make a suit out of them (just like Loro Piana) and the cloth label is no indication of the maker or the suit's quality.

The label saids Saks Fifth Ave and as other mentioned, the suits are made in the USA with USA union label.

I bought 2 suits and since they didn't have my size, one of them had to be shipped to me. I just noticed on the shipping confirm, my 2nd suit is send from J.A. APPAREL CORP and after a quick google, it seems to be Joseph Abboud. My understanding is, their suits are typically half canvas. I'm not good at the pinch test, so what's the best way to confirm this?
