our feature on Golden Bear and Lewis Leathers for Garbstore:

It's hard to find a quality varsity jacket that doesn't look like the actual one you used to wear in high school but isn't the kind that makes you look like you're really trying to let everyone know you used to play sports. Garbstore's recent collaboration with heritage brand Golden Bear fits that middle ground in stride with its Vintage Varsity Tour Jacket. Bringing it back to the '40s, the Varsity Jacket accents its slim cut with old-school touches like it's buttoned-down funnel collar. What really sets it off though is the Kelly Green and Ivory Powder colorways; trust, you definitely catch some eyes in these pieces.

And you thought that was it. Garbstore brings another collaborative effort, this time with Lewis Leathers, known as theCountryman No. 385. The jacket shows some more vintage influences, pointing toward the '70s style lumber jackets. And while the smooth suede will probably have a few individuals giving this jacket a feel, the plaid lining inside subtly compliments the look.

The two collaborations are available both in-store and online at Bodega.

Couple of questions related to the Acronym stuff:

1. How does Gore Tex differ from the E- fabric? Are they entirely different?

2. I have an older 3a-6ts bag with the limo-something fabric. Have they changes the fabric on the compression pockets also? Is there any chance you have an older one lying around so I can get a matching fabric?

Sure.

1. The biggest difference between Gore-Tex and the Epic Amphibious Cotton [EAC] is that EAC is water-repellent while Gore-Tex is waterproof. Being of 100% cotton construction, EAC does not completely block the penetration of water, where on the other hand the layered membrane construction of Gore-Tex does.

2. Yes, they have changed the fabrics on the new compression pockets to match that of the new bags. In each case the Limonta fabric has been swapped out for Dimension Polyant X-Pac. Unfortunately, we are all out of the Limonta compression pockets at this point.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
