For me, high rise trousers (>11 inch rise) are best suited to pleats, of which forward pleats are more slimming as they do not bulk outwards from the side like reverse pleats.  Very high flat fronts lend themselves to a lot of horizontal creasing.  While short rise (<10 inch) trousers are comfortable, they accentuate the stomach, and can be quite restrictive in a fitted flat front.  I've sometimes thought that in order to have a comfortable flat front trouser, it almost needs to be bulkier than a pleated trouser, hence ruining the effect.

I very much like those trousers from Vox.

Is that the light blue linen pocket square?

Also by chance is that the MJ Bale tumut suit?

Yep that's the light blue PS.

Close on the suit, it's the Mudgee weave.

ah damn, was on a good streak there for a bit. Looks blue not grey on this inferior monitor.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Thank you Mimo, you hit the nail on the head with my philosophy of making Repp ties. On the forum, there are so many people selling ties that are so light and un-tipped etc etc (I do too don't worry) but my thinking along repps is that they transcend trends and seasons, and should be made to last according to that. Which to me means nice heavy silks and self tipped. Bulletproof, as you say....
I'd perhaps try a four in hand with that one also (due to the bulkiness).

That IS a four in hand.  Bulky indeed.

7 Fold grenadines in forest, chocolate & burgundy and silver, black & navy

I can recommend the silver grenadine unreservedly.  If you were to sew a fancy name on the back, it would be three times what Jason is asking for it.
