They are sized in Mondopoint which is truer to size than any other measuring system.
285 mondopoint means 285mm insole. so take a tape and measure your foot. If you foot measures 280, I'd suggest a size 285. etc.
They are high quality made from leather and suede and are build to last. I still wear them for day to day errands and they still look nice even though it's been 4 years since I left the Bundeswehr. There are Jil Sander Sneaker for 300 USD and the Maison Martin Margiela version for 400 that look almost alike:
