I started a new grad program, so I'm not playing much these days. I'm definitely not quitting until I kill inferno diablo at least once. I should be able to take care of that in 1.04...I hope.

That's crazy! Has 1.04 hit already??

annoying ... cant buy anything on AH. errors left and right

I've been playing some more D3 on Inferno and having a bit more fun. Items are a little stronger and it seems that Inferno is tolerable now.

I decided I at least owe it to myself to get lvl 60 of each character. Started with a barb, and... the game is fun again! I am swearing off the AH and only playing with my own drops. New skill buffs are pretty fun - for example, Rend damage went from 210% over 3 seconds to 700% over 5 seconds so now the game feels more like a frantic hack-and-slash murderfest as opposed to kite-kite-kite. The Paragon system injects some much-needed life into the late-game also. My biggest issue was that once you hit 60 and were running whatever area for loot, it would be a complete waste of time if you didn't get anything useful. This way, you're at least buffing your character up a bit.

Now, if they would have called a spade a spade and just made the level cap at 100+ instead of 60 (+100) and scaled the skill system better in the first place...

Recs. for a post 1.04 wizard setup?

I am doing okay with a group through Act III until the Mid-Act Boss w/ the Poison Farts

I see Explosion + Tornado seems cool but it is more of a tank Wiz...I am still hit and run. Read a little of the build by JAMES on the D3 forum but I have no money for gear.

Still using Venom Hydra + Blizz with only 20K+ DPS and 500+RES All

The new legendaries are sick

Started playing Guild Wars 2...I'm sure I will come back to see what happens to D3 after a bunch more patches so that I can complete my gameplay experience

How is it? Never got into the original, but I love games with an emphasis on pee vee pee.

Good so far. I am playing a thief which I am not so sure about in the long run (only seriously played casters in WoW)

Only problem I am seeing right now is the game doesn't do well on the tutorial front. The first 10 levels of WoW were much more engaging and taught you the game whereas by level 10 in GW2, you have a ton of skills and abilities and you never got any real instruction on how to use them.

WvWvW (3 way huge-scale PVP with siege engines and shit) looks pretty awesome although I have yet to make any major contribution to it.

I never liked PvP games much. I'm always more of a PvM.

The PvE in guild wars thus far has been excellent as well.

It has some really strong voice acting and "personal questlines" that are based on your character's race and initial setup (for my race I had to choose things like my college, my outlook on life, and I think my mentor or something which I think all factor into my story).

Because of this, I think my next character will be a pretty different story experience as well as play style. That aspect has been done better than D3 which as you all know has some pretty stupid plot holes and terrible voice acting.

GW pvp was the best of any game I've ever played. It required skill as well as tactical prowess; and the combat itself was intricate and demanded attention to detail (constant weapon switching, field awareness, etc...). From what I've heard GW2 has been immensely dumbed down, it's obvious that focus is on PvE this time.
