I did play D2 back in elementary/middle school, but it goes back to the notion that I was too young and naive to find the game boring from its repetitiveness.
I was looking forward to playing with one of my best friends who's back in Boston, but he plays on a shitty laptop and has a terrible internet connection. He also refuses to use a mouse and insists that he's just fine with using the trackpad. So when we played Beta together, his character was lagging and jumping all over the screen. I told him not to buy it because it wouldn't be worth his time and because I found the game boring by the time I told him.
A lot of the fun probably stems from playing in a party of people you get along with, consistently. With my travel lifestyle and all, I would never be able to get serious about the game and I'd only be limited to playing it on the weekends.
So meh. It got old, quick.
