I do wide grip at home and find it very difficult. When I went to my MA class they had a pull up bar and everyone was doing them shoulder width so I tried that and was able to do 6x2. I think at home the most I have ever been able to do with the wide grip (bar ends angled down) is 2-3. But it's been so long since I have tried that, I have no idea. I use these big rubber band thingies for now.
