iPhone 5 - Page 255

Are there any good/best ways to stream movies to an Iphone? I was hoping I could get Hulu or Amazon Prime Video up and going but haven't had success after playing around with it for a couple minutes.

Never seen that before, might need to make an appointment at the apple store. Have you tried resetting network settings?

Streaming from the web or at home over a home network? I use AcePlayer to stream videos from my home network to my ipad. Over the web I think Netflix is your best bet.

Left hand - when you go into settings, before you click on wi-fi, what does it say next to it?

ok. can you click on it so that you can turn it On, or is that where the problem is? i've never heard of not being able to switch it on and off before, so if that's the case, then I think you'll have to go full-on restore.

Yes. I can get to the Wi-Fi page but can't toggle the slider from OFF to ON. And as I said the entire line is greyed out.

Did a full restore yesterday and upgraded to the latest OS, but no luck. Could it be that the wireless 'antenna' has failed? I'll take it in as I want to sell it, but man I'm getting really tired of apple.

just wanted to make sure we were on the same page.

well, there's a 200 page thread on the Apple support forum about this:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4310121?start=0&tstart=0

ALL sorts of suggestions, no real fix. Are you using 6.1.2?

this was a fix in one of the threads:

Switching to airplane mode, powering off the device for ten minutes and then turning it on made the Wi-fi button accessible for me. Thanks.

this is a well known problem with iOS. they should replace the phone for you for free, or at least give you something comparable.

Thanks. My problem is that I never know what specific terms to search for and apple's support search is pretty much useless. Will now try suggestion. Yes to 6.1.2.

It's a 4 so I doubt they'll replace.

you never know. tell them it started after an iOS update. link them to the support discussion (geniuses aren't always aware of every issue) if they need proof. they might bump you up to a 4S since they no longer have 4's.

No luck. I was probably going to get a 5 soon, but still pissed.
