One of the biggest annoyances among many (I had a list typed out and I can't find it -- probably in an old text or something, don't care enough to look it up) is how absolutely shitty the screen gyroscope is. I'm laying in bed on my side and hold the phone in portrait view, but there's no way to tell the fucking phone to NOT switch to landscape view (since the gyroscope would detect that the phone's parallel to the ground).

lol really? confused.gif

in viewing a message, how do you move to the next message in the Gmail app? it keeps forcing me back out to the main inbox page.

So far, the T-Mobile service has been ok on the 5. Some areas around here only work on Edge but the call quality has been pretty good. Not bad for $60 IMO.

Why do you use a gmail app and not just sync gmail with your mailbox?

Anyone found an untethered jail break yet?

Cue PB comment against customizing a phone while he wears a bespoke shirt and suit.

his suits look quite nice. Not sure why he'd want to take delivery, wear them for a while, then decide to re-do them all with a different tailor.

But think about it. The phone is customizable enough as it is. People just want to be difficult. Exactly why Rambo uses a google mail app and not just the regular mail function. To be difficult and believe he is better for not taking the common, fine, approach.

There's probably a name for the phenomenon of preferring aftermarket things to stock despite how well they function. You see it a lot with car people.

I like it because it lets me use more than one email inbox at the same time. The fact that you'd think I believe I'm better at ANYTHING than anyone else means you've really never read any of my drunken diatribes.

Still lookin for an answer to that Gmail app question BTW.

Finally the google maps app is out. Looks pretty good, just wish apple would let you set a third party app as a default maps app.

Had an annoying problem recently with iPhone 5 wifi at home:

If anyone else is having constant drops and it not working in general, make sure IPv6 is turned on, its a setting in your router. If your router is old and doesnt support IPv6, you're out of luck.

Got the new google maps app. Overall I like it, but the gps has be across the street from where I actually am. Maybe that's just because I am up in a tall building though...

I want to be able to customize things like my lock screen. I used to like how with my Samsung I would just "wake it up" and it would have a set of displays I could see that included a market ticker, my day's schedule, and a host of other information I could pick from. There were many themes one could download that had prepackaged lock screens, etc.

Also, I miss live wallpaper. I always put a nice Xmas scene as my wall paper this time of year. frown.gif
