I've had a Blackberry Bold 9700 for the last 3 years and it can barely open ESPN. Very excited to be getting a capable phone with LTE!

I was also a Berry user(work) until I picked up the 5 about 3 weeks ago. Love it. MUCH faster than Berry will ever be. You will enjoy.

Phone gets here Thursday from Zhengshou, China. It seems like there are no good cases for this phone. Damn you internet reviews!!

I am already noticing a few minor blemishes on the sides, I still refuse to use a case.

Oh and I was a Starbucks and saw a guy use the pass deal, it's petty cool IMO.

I don't have a case either. Looking at just a screen protector....

So, I went ahead and got one of the bumpers from Amazon, because they were only being sold for a penny plus shipping. It did the job, but has a horrible plasticky look to it, so I dumped it today. I went to the Apple store and got one of these:

It's kind of Pocket Day-Timer looking, but it does the job better, adds grip to the phone, as well as weight. I could do without the card slots, I'm not really into putting all my assets together like this. Although putting all your most important items into one grab and go item does have its advantages, say, if you're in a bordello and it gets raided.

The gas can looking case I bought from Fab.com has yet to arrive.

Got the modem, it only took a hour and a half to set up and being transferred to five different people to get it to work. Bingo!

Interested to know what you pick, looks useful

I use garage door, it's already on the phone, but that is more about notifications than about launching apps and files.

I did not find any launchers when I searched apps through iTunes...any names of programs I could look up directly?

If you do a Google for "iphone 5 launcher" all you get is a billion hits for an Android frontend that mimics the iPhone (with more functionality though. wink.gif )

There is a two step process to fix your problem. First take advantage of the program here. Next you will need to follow the instructions on this page.

This will allow you to once again use the Android UI experience you have been missing.

Nicely played.

I'm actually not actively disliking the iPhone at this point.

some thoughts:

huge speed increase over the 4

big fan of thinness, but the greater length makes the phone kind of shitty for putting in a front pocket

does anyone feel there's almost too many options now? i don't need literally 10 ways to access the volume control/song control, etc.. i know apple is trying to include redundancies to be user friendly, but still, it can be a little much at times

for the app gurus - does anyone know how to get the google gmail app to access more then one account at once, and accounts that are third-party but use the gmail framework?

Typed launcher in the search window on the apple app store and they came up. Read a review of Alfred because it had 366 reviews and still had 5 stars but don't know if it does what you want it to do. That's why I said I don't know how you would find one to replicate or one that works in the same way as what you used on android.
