iPhone 5 - Page 17

Still have not tried the new Podcast app. Maybe tonight. When I do, I will share my thoughts. Considering it's brand new it may well have some bugs to work out and features to expand upon.

Yeah, the new Google tablet looks decent. Better then the Amazon Fire, but considering how much newer it is, that is to be expected. Amazon is supposed to show off the next Fire next month and the hardware should catch up and maybe exceed what Google just showed. My biggest problem with it is the screen. I don't have a problem with the idea of a 7 inch tablet, but they really shouldn't be widescreen. It makes for shitty browsing and other use cases for the sake of improved video. That comes from experience with the Fire which I owned.

This tablet is so light that you could just browse in landscape all the time. I think widescreen becomes an issue with portrait viewing only.

Magazines looks amazing on the iPad so my assumption is that they won't look as good on a 7" screen.

Forget specs for a sec, this blows the Fire away with respect to hardware. Who knows what the new Fire will entail. Probably just a spec update if I had to guess. (It sorely lacks a volume rocker.)

I think a 16 GB Nexus tablet at $250 is a very intriguing piece of hardware.

Agree. Sizing these screens to favor video over...everything else is really stupid IMO. Being able to play video is great, but face it NO ONE is going to use this as their main media player.

Especially when probably 80% of iphone users also have ipads.

I think it would be cool to have one account for both your iphone and ipad with a phone company rather than different contracts for data.

Browsing the web on the Nexus will be great in landscape.

Yeah, Android tab manus seem to have given up on portrait mode a while ago. Shame for those of us who want to use our tablets to read things.

It's coming.

Yeah 20 extra per month to add a tablet to your existing shared data plan. Ridiculous.

I refuse to use LCD's as a digital reader. It's great for articles but my reading takes place on my Nook Touch.

<3 my Nook Simple Touch wouldn't give it up for the world. But I'd also like something to serve as a color PDF / Comic reader that can also display my 8.5x11 and A4 sized court briefs, patent apps, etc.

I do envy the lawyers here at work who have iPads and bring that to hearings, as opposed to my boss who still does shit the old school way. Which means I spend considerable time making multiple copies of many 4" binders on rolling bookcases. Hell, when trial time comes around I end up having to rent a damn Uhaul to take to the courthouse heh.

Newer associates take the iPad, has everything they need already on it in PDF form, and can even plug into a projector for Powerpointes, animations, etc.

If you need that 9.7" screen, so be it. I still think this Nexus tablet could be everything the Kindle Fire was not.

Well sizing in relation to aspect ratio. I think a 7 inch tablet with an aspect ratio like the iPad has would be better then one that is widescreen.

Absolutely, but since I'm already waiting, I may as well wait longer for something bigger to come out, and get cheaper. Not really high on my list of priorities, but man, reading pdfs without pinching like that would be nice.
