Oh I'm sure there's plenty of nouveau riche who can easily afford the equivalent of $3000-$4000 bucks on a new Apple laptop with Retina display. Probably sits well with their Ferraris, Pateks, Montblancs, Bulgaris, Kitons, Vertus, LVs, and other status symbols. While the rest of us make do and are happy most of the time with our $500-$700 Lenovo and Great Wall PCs

I think most of the luxury product makers seem to do very well in China actually.

Actually, it's a crappy analogy, but whatever.

Trolling in a web forum. Great use of your life.

For the last time, there will be no "iPhone 5." The iPhone 4S is the 5th iPhone. It would make no sense to call the 6th generation hardware iPhone 5.
i dont understand why you keep thinking that. the iphone 4s is a minor upgrade to 4. iphone 4 came after iphone 3gs, yes?
I am talking naming. They called the iPhone 3G that because it had 3G. The iPhone 4 was named so because it was the 4th iPhone. The iPhone 4S is the 5th iPhone hardware revision to be released by Apple. This year we will see the 6th iPhone. Does it make any sense to you to call the 6th iPhone hardware revision, "iPhone 5"?

yes

because 5 comes after 4. what you want it to be called iphone 6?

and really the 4s was very little hardware revision (ever so slightly different button placement and a better camera)

It will not be called "The New iPhone". It is the iPhone 5. I know because I have it. Tell them indesertum.

rolleyes.gif iPhone 4S was a hardware revision, but that does not change the fact that it was the 5th iPhone handset to be released by Apple.

It will likely either be "The New iPhone" like they did with the current iPad or come up with a name based on one of it's new hardware features like the did the 3G. My personal theory is that if these widescreen rumors are true, they will play up video on the device highly and it will be named/marketed based on that.

This naming thing is really stupid to argue over.

If Apple put a retina display on the iPad and elected to simply call it the 'new iPad' then I feel strongly that they'll call the next iPhone the 'new iPhone' from now on.

LTE SIII reviews hit today. Seeing some talk of a 'dim' screen. For shame.

Did you follow the Windows Phone 8 news? Some interesting stuff, but I have a feeling they will end up alienating many of the current WP7 users by deciding to start over fresh with the kernel. They have to get it right this time and honestly it may already be too late for them to catch up.
