Initial inspection reveals no scratches. I could take a bunch of pics with my DSLR and macro lens to confirm for sure, but I just don't care enough to go to the trouble. smile.gif

Saw a client this morning who is reordering a trouser we made that was lost by the drycleaner. Is there a Find My Pants App out there?

The fact that you even took the time to make this and put it on an internet forum really says everything.
I'll be posting my initial impressions after I use my phone for a few hours tomorrow. After that I will never contribute to this thread again. Some of you are the biggest fucking losers.

Isn't this like saying you will never contribute to the whole forvm again?
I thought you had me on ignore?

With the launch of the iPhone 5, several companies are performing tests and benchmarks on the new device. One common effort is to put any new iPhone in a series of drop tests to see how well it survives common falls.

Android Authority (via iPhoneinCanada) posts a drop test comparison video between the Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 and actually finds in favor of the iPhone 5.

"Well, as much as we hate to admit it, the iPhone 5 did amazingly well in our drop test, while the Samsung Galaxy S3 came out in pretty bad shape. It’s the cold hard truth that we can’t hide and we can’t ignore.
....
The hard aluminum shell of the iPhone 5 withstood the impact pretty well, and the glass protecting the display remained intact. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S3 predictably lost its back cover and suffered damage to the casing and the front glass. Sad, sad, sad
".

Meanwhile, iFixYouri (via 9to5Mac) also posted a video showing their version of the drop test which also tested dropping the iPhone 5 from various heights.

The iPhone 5 survived all the falls until they finally threw the device screen down. They describe the device as the "most durable iPhone" they've seen.

Upon further review, there is a tiny spot by the headphone jack where the anodizing is scuffed through. Also a spot where it's a bit mis-colored, which is hard to notice unless you really stare at it. While I suppose I would prefer for it to be perfect, I cannot say that I really care.

what have i gotten myself into

I will be happy with a working phone and apps to play around with. As long as the actual iPhone 5 works, GPS is decent, and I can read things on it/text/connectivity it is all good.

Mine should arrive today and I'll post a review! (Previous post was about the extra adapter I bought that should arrive next Friday or so).

FWIW my previous Samsung model dropped plenty of time with no dings or scratch. This is my first smartphone and all I expect is that it work like one on par to my needs.

Another thing is I hate all the damn alarms in the morning on my phone(s)...Can't wait to use the Uniqlo app.

I am setting this bitch up. Fanbois, do I want to set up my gmail via the apple "set up email" during the initial setup, or is there a separate gmail app that works better?

It was much easier to walk into a store and pick up an iPad 3 then was expected too. Had little to do with demand since they sold a bazillion of them. Apple has just got really good at mass producing hardware these days.

Maybe I should go check a store at lunch? icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
