Appeal on a silver platter right there.

This is turning into one of the biggest fiascoes I've seen in a long time.

It is a lose lose situation for the judiciary system...

It is a trial where political issues are dominating the spheres of investigation and prosecution.

In all honesty , they will try to look for an acceptable compromise.

A whitewash will lead to racial tensions and a prison sentence will have repercussions...

It is harder to see how justice can be done in that case.

If Zimmerman was black and he'd killed Martin in a drug deal gone bad, and he was prosecuted like this, he'd be a cause celebre by now.

Don't know anything about Florida law, but ordering it released over the objections of both parties is just weird.

It was the media advocating for making the allegations public. I don't see your point.

I mean, look at the headlines about this -- I posted one, but there are a lot of others, all of which seem to be calculated to sensationalize or mislead, to prejudice Zimmerman's defense. And, you know, if Zimmerman hadn't already been subjected to so much from them it might be a little less egregious.

My point is that "the media" and "the Left" are not actually the same thing, and it makes you look paranoid and credulous to harp on about them as if they were.

No, they're not the same thing, but the media sure as hell as a subset of the left, as evidenced by its behavior in cases like this. You can deny it if you like, but it makes you look dishonest or naive.

Yep. The legal system's handling of this case has been awful, the media has made an ass out of itself with its bias, and many Americans are rushing to judgment along tribal/racial lines.

It's looking like Zimmerman can't legally be convicted, but there will be riots if that actually happens. What a mess.

I think using the word "tribal" in this situation could be construed as racist.

Behavior in cases like this has nothing to do with lieft/right. It has to do with raw capitalism - this case in the form of selling newspapers/ad times.

If left/right was significant in this, the whitewater/monica lewinsky thing wouldn't have consumed nearly a half decade.

Nice little circular argument you have going there.

Yeah I'd never even heard of Bill Clinton until CNN ran his story non-stop for days, with a grossly misleading, one-sided, sensationalist spin.

I mean, c'mon.

Bingo. I don't know if Ataturk is deliberately obtuse on this subject, or just misses the point.
