How the law , the media and society will deal with the challenges attached to this law?

Are you sure you don't just copy-and-paste Larry King's USA Today columns?

Do you really think I'm reading Larry King's column in USA today???

Great Britain is also quite insular in their news..

It is just common sense ...

Here is a parody of a Larry King column, courtesy of the Onion. Ring a bell?

As a CCW instructor I have followed this case. I won't go into any detail about any of it. The only thing I will say is if I was put on the stand to give an expert opinion/testimony what I had to say would not be in Z's best interest.

Expert testimony about what?

Whether or not this was a justifiable use of deadly force by a CCW holder.

How does one get in a position to offer expert testimony?

1) Be an expert at something.
2) Be asked to give your expert opinion on the subject matter in a court case.

Really? This needed to be explained?

Frankly, your list could be shortened to:

1) Be asked to give your expert opinion on the subject matter in a court case.

Yeah, but from what I've personally witnessed, that leaves one side open to have an actual expert from the other side come in and destroy that testimony.

I'm figuring Edina's follow up question will be, "How do you get asked to give your expert opinion in a court case?" My answer would be, "Come in contact with an attorney that deals in cases that you have expertise in and impress that attorney with the odds of you being credible on the witness stand." At least, that's how I became an expert witness.

Thank you.

If I were to look at the singular event, if true, that involved the actual shooting I wouldn't have any problem saying it was a justifiable use of deadly force. The problem with that is the event is not singular and there were a whole series of events that preceeded the actual use of the firearm. This is where IMO the defending of life and limb under a self defense stance falls apart.

Ed, you've been an absolutely awful poster lately. Seriously. I like you as a person and what you used to be on SF, but you've been really, really shitty lately.

On that question, you're not any more of an expert on self-defense than a properly instructed jury. The judge wouldn't let you testify.

Wrong.
