In grammar school we learned about killer statements. I just never knew they were so powerful.

Yeah, part of me wishes he had just stopped with Dune. That book was as nearly perfect as a book could get. It picked up again with Lord Emperor and Chapterhouse though. As for the books his kid wrote with someone else I view them as something completely different.

They're dwarfed by those mansions--as big as apartment buildings, they are.

I see the gates. I'm still looking for the community though.

I am in the middle of reading The Wandering Falcon, by Jamil Ahmad. It was recommended in a if-you-loved-reading-about-the-desert-of-Arrakis, you will love this way. It is about the Baluch people living in the border lands between Pakistan and Afghanistan. So far so good, so I am passing it along.

The sequels to Dune were not anywhere near the original. The second book was the only one I found readable, after that it just got too agonizing.

I thought the second Dune book was actually better than the first, but, generally agree with that statement, all downhill after the second.

Listen...everyone is saying that FL's BS stand your ground law applies to Zimmerman..... but noone is saying that it also applies to Trayvon! If I was walking down my street and someone was following me(with a concealed gun and on the phone), I would turn around and ask him.."Do we have a fucking problem??" Zimmerman was not ATTACKED! A young man being followed and possibly(1 theory) turned around and said "what's your fucking problem" and Zimmerman possibly(1 theroy) said don't move(blah blah blah) and they started fighting-aka Trayvon fighting for his life...aka stand your ground! AND, if Zimmerman pulled out his gun, Trayvon SHOULD have tried to beat his ass! That is NOT being attacked. That is stand your ground on Trayvon's part!! If Zimmerman would have LISTENED to the instructions that he got(don't follow), Trayvon would be alive! Totally different story if Zimmerman would have said that he was out on his "watch" and Trayvon started following him. Trayvon is dead for 2 reasons: Zimmerman profiled him and Zimmerman didn't listen!

Goddammit ter you suck as a poster so much!!!!!!!!!!!!

You see words are like bullets--they pass right through me.
