This forum will include, among others, professors of geography and undergraduate students majoring in international affairs, stats/econ, and psychology and Germanic and Slavic studies. Should be an enlightening discussion; I'm very sorry I'll be missing it. Not.

Oh well, so much for the unemployment rate going down.

That photo, where the fuck have they been hiding that! Is there a jury on this planet that could convict 2nd degree murder if that thing is entered as evidence?

Wrong....
Listen...everyone is saying that FL's BS stand your ground law applies to Zimmerman..... but noone is saying that it also applies to Trayvon! If I was walking down my street and someone was following me(with a concealed gun and on the phone), I would turn around and ask him.."Do we have a fucking problem??" Zimmerman was not ATTACKED! A young man being followed and possibly(1 theory) turned around and said "what's your fucking problem" and Zimmerman possibly(1 theroy) said don't move(blah blah blah) and they started fighting-aka Trayvon fighting for his life...aka stand your ground! AND, if Zimmerman pulled out his gun, Trayvon SHOULD have tried to beat his ass! That is NOT being attacked. That is stand your ground on Trayvon's part!! If Zimmerman would have LISTENED to the instructions that he got(don't follow), Trayvon would be alive! Totally different story if Zimmerman would have said that he was out on his "watch" and Trayvon started following him. Trayvon is dead for 2 reasons: Zimmerman profiled him and Zimmerman didn't listen!

Quick question...if the gun was concealed how would you know he had it? Also, I think you're going to have a hard time proving cell phone use is hostile.

This law is inept and dangerous and anybody with a brain cell could have predicted such situations arising quickly..

It has been voted under populist reasons and is obviously flawed..

If somebody was following me around, I would be at least defensive giving the other guy the excuse to shoot me...

What now will stop a bad hooded black guy following a nice young white guy to mug him and when the latter will try to defend himself , the black guy will use the same law to shoot him...

Without reliable witness , the guy will get away with it..

Zimmerman has been told not to engage the guy or to follow him and was known to be using racist language...

What else the judge needs to arrest and charge him???

This tragic episode leaves the politicians in a conumdrum because it will create a dangerous precedent if Zimmerman is not jailed..

How can you leave happily in a country where carrying concealed weapons is lawful???

Weapons must be reserved to the Police and nobody else.

So what country in the world does this state of reality happen in?

What I was saying is that if someone is following you...WITH a concealed ANYTHING, that person will tend to be more aggressive than the person being followed.....due to the fact that they have a weapon and not a bag of Skittles.....

I don't think that is necessarily so and certainly not with civilians carrying a legally concealed gun. Also, in your scenario above, the person being followed was obviously more aggressive as you had him turning around and changing the situation from one of being followed to an out and out confrontation.

well i guess it depends on perspective, but would you not address someone who is clearly making a point to follow you? i dont necessarily define that as being aggressive. it can be done aggressively, but it isnt inherently aggressive.

Sorry, starting the confrontation is inherently aggressive IMO. And no, I would not necessarily address them.

I would.
Like I said....If I waswalking to my house or to my mom's place in her 'hood and someone followed me....I would turn around and say something....
So Trayvon was being aggressive and Zimmerman was not...even though the dispatcher TOLD him to NOT follow his "suspect??"

I did not say "Zimmerman was not." Stop attributing things to me that I did not say. What I said was starting a confrontation is inherently aggressive. That's my opinion and you cannot change it. I do not see how you can think that turning around and confronting someone is not aggressive.

Also, the dispatcher did not TELL him NOT to follow his "suspect." He said, "You don't have to do that." Why are you mischaracterizing the taped conversation we have all heard?
