Here's the money. I will paypal it out, personal payment to whoever comes through on this.

I know he has which suffices for me, I'm not Googling or linking anything. I never do too much energy.

Sort of apropos, and certainly not worth a new thread. The linked CNN article has more pictures but is written in CNN speak.

Edina, I don't usually going around asking for money, but would you be willing to cover the $5 difference? If I can raise these funds, I will name the five instances, and the entire forum will benefit. Otherwise, I will have to take my campaign to Kickstarter.

Nobody can just like nobody can speak for the white community. That is because they are both made up of people with different beliefs and interests and wants. You know, blacks are people, right, and not just a concept important to hand wringing white liberals. Anyway, Sharpton speaks for those who throw in with him, and for himself. Nothing more.

This is the danger of group politics. Individuals have rights, not groups.

How has Sharpton or Jackson helped the 'black' cause any?

Sharpton is fighting those voter ID laws which have an element of racism to them but also anti poor and elderly. He helps the black cause by not letting people think because no one mentions the issues, there aren't any.

You mean the ones where the states are bending over backwards to help people get their IDs... the same IDs that they would need to go to the airport, buy alcohol or cigarettes, write a check when you buy groceries, get a hotel, etc... ya that sure is racist.

My God, 16-ton is like Jonathan Capehart channeled through a Hallmark Card. facepalm.gif
Seriously, guys, stop engaging him. Roughly 300 posts have been directed his way and he's still saying the same childish, inane things he said from the start. The thread was ready to die a natural death and then he came in and turned it into an embarrassing trainwreck of stupidity. I'm usually quite patient with posters like this, but not this time. It's ALL been outlined for him, and he's just got his fingers in his ears going NYA NYA NYA NYA NYALALALALALALLALALALALA.

NEXT:
Anyway, on the last page others mentioned again the "coons/punks" issue. Again, we don't have to prove wither he said A OR B. we just have to prove he DIDN'T say the racial slur. Totally different situation. It doesn't matter if he said punks, cunts, or philatelist... we just have to prove he didn't say coons. And, that's pretty easy.

Next, the thing to realize is that it is a mistake to keep attributing any type of conscious or intentional action to Sharpton OR anybody else. Psychology, human decisions, and the brain don't work that way. Sharpton can be both the asshole we all think he is AND yet believe himself concerned about black people. He's not literally sitting in his house excited that black kids get shot so he can get publicity. That being said doesn't mean that he actually isn't an attention whore out to get publicity. He can be both!

The point is that consciously or intentionally nobody is the evil calculating genius we often think/want them to be. People and their decisions are complex, and made up of many factors (some of which I've outlined on this thread) A single decision is made up of various hybrid components, some of which are intentional, others unintentional, conscious, unconscious... and many of which cannot be measured/assessed explicitly (like through an interview or survey.) There are other implicit tests from measuring reaction times to watching pupil dilation.

Also, in general the nature of a complex system (like human decisions) is such that the emerging behavior/decision canNOT be traced back to its real "motivations" or roots. You can't really know the true motivation... you can only measure/study the outcome or decision itself. So, all this trying to find what Al truly thinks/is is specious.

He could be. But he's not.

Also, pupil dilation is a signal the person is drunk. So It's either meaningless or ShaRpton is a racist drunk. Your choice.

How dilated are your pupils now dear?

It's also a sign of mental exertion or engagement on a task, among other things. Social psychs have used it for decades to find all sorts of things.
