Why is Spike Lee not facing charges and going to trial? I think the "reasonable man" argument would indicate he could well have foreseen the impact his tweet would have on the occupants of that address. Why is he not arrested?
Was jpierpont being serious when he said he retweeted it?
If so, I think it's sad. Tragic, even.
He was also calling for the man's death earlier in the thread. I thought we'd gotten through to him at least to wait a bit and see what the investigation turned up, but I guess not. I think regardless of one's OPINIONS of this case, to do something like that is irresponsible and, quite frankly, vile.
I hope the couple at least sues Spike for a lot of "emotional distress." His last few movies have completely sucked anyway and he's largely a self-caricature.
I really don't get how those who do these kinds of things don't see the irony (tragic) in rounding up a 21st century e-mob to go out and do some lynching because their version of "justice" was faster and more satisfying than the legal one. To the lawyers, if something DID happen to that couple (or to Z if that had been his real address), could Lee or others be held accountable?
