Mad Men Season 5 - Page 6

I think they used a body double in scene when she got up from the bath tub.

I think that was def a body double when she was getting out of the bath. What about the fat chin, do you think it was the real deal or prosthetic? I alway thought Betty was hot, a bitch but hot. I know she is preggers IRL but damn they really made her look like a fatty.

I find myself cringing whenever Roger walks by hoping that his remarks at Don's new secretary Dawn aren't off the wall racist. And how long until the creeper Lane Price tries to sleep with Dawn?

They put Peggy in a fat suit in Season 1, assuming that's what they did here.

"We should do this again"

"Good night, Harry."

"Dinner at 6:30, we could get some steaks?"

"No."

"Ok, I'll see you at 7:15, already having eaten!"

Also loved Harry getting high and pounding back 20 burgers lol8[1].gif

Does Harry do anything?

Harry handles TV ads.

I think there was some kind of special effects on Betty's chin. Either makeup or cgi. It looked too fake. She's a terrible actress, by the way.

The new copywriter is annoying. But then I think all new staff are annoying until a few episodes in.

It's sad to see Sterling turn into Cooper and if Draper doesn't try and coasts on his reputation, he's going to turn into Sterling. At the very least he knows Peggy and in some way, Campbell, are fighting for him. His choice of attire for the Stones visit was classic - what was he expecting? A night out with the Stones manager a la Season 2's farewell party for Freddy complete with fedoras? Megan still has a ways to go to be "the good wife."

Too many comments about Betty already.

In general all of the women, except for Megan, have declined a bit since the break, but maybe it's intentional. I liked Trudy before - but since the baby she hasn't exactly been at her best.

My first thought was that something looked off, but it might have been the shock of seeing
Betty so much heavier. If her face is CGI'd, they did a good job. She just looked fat to me.

Meant to comment after the birthday party scene in Don's apartment - his living room area is awesome. A little too much color for my taste, but I really like the mid-century modern aesthetic.

Peggy and the new copywriter are bumping uglies in 3, 2, 1...

Its kind of cool to see the mid-century look done as it would have been done back then. Nowadays, you see people pulling elements from all over so long as they have a bunch of iconic pieces (throw a saarinen table with some eames chairs and a knoll table).
If you are looking at the Mad Men sets, you don't see today's mix and match but rather a set of pieces chosen by the character to match their aesthetic without the influences of what has remained popular (and in production). Look at the difference between Don or Pete's (I like his couch a lot) office with Roger's all white fiberglass, leather, and marble space.

The Jewish kid?  I think Roger will make a pass at Peggy for no really great reason

Man. . . I thought his apartment was hideous.
