There were some fantastic jokes and one-liners.

People (the females) got over-emotional and Lane being a creeper was...odd.

I cannot believe it's been 17 months since the last season. So happy to have it back on the air. Great season premiere. Also, the party was awesome. I always enjoy the scenes outside the office. Quite refreshing.

I'm glad Cooper is back. They gave the impression that he retired last season.

Lane being a creeper was awkward and kind of cute. Who can blame him with a phone call that seductive though?Can someone refresh me on his wife? Didn't they split up then he started to date the black Playboy bunny and let his father know? I wonder if Lane will change his mind on hiring anyone. He seemed awfully happy to accept all those resumes.

I think the talk between Bobby and Don about how old he would be when Bobby is 40(70) is hinting at the type of ending they have planned for the show in the 7th season. From Weiner:

Pryce was told by his father to stay in New York with his whole family or go back to London with his whole family. Doubtless if he chose the latter, the father would exert some influence on the wife to get over there with his son.

I had read before watching the show that the episode was a gift to Mad Men fans. And it seems like it - picks up on a lot of little things throughout the various seasons and gives the fans a chuckle or two - like Crane bargaining with Sterling again, Mohawk Airlines again, Heinz again. Apparently the episode already touched on Campbell's receding hairline. Sterling looks like he is about to sink to the bottom a la Draper in Season 4.

I'm confused on to two things. Cooper being back with no explanation at all. And Draper being older than Whitman. I thought Draper was a few years older than Whitman - that's why Anna Draper was visibly older than the fake Draper. If I recall correctly, the real Draper was an officer married with kids beckoning when he returned from service, and Whitman was just a raw recruit out of basic.

Also amazingly no one complained about Megan here. Last season, people on SF were complaining about her teeth and everything.

Her teeth had work done on them since. In the "Previously on Mad Men" scenes they were more jacked up.

As long as a girl's smile is not gummy, or the teeth are yellow, I'm forgiving about teeth. I think they diffused the issue with her teeth when she confided in Don that she could never become and actress because of her teeth.

I think her new haircut is much better.

WTF was with Pete's horrible fall into the support column? Seemed forced and fake.

Also, the gun hanging on the wall in Pete's office? I believe that is the one he bought when he returned that wedding gift, right? We've seen it numerous times. They made a point of showing it last night. We all know what Chekhov says about introducing guns...
