Joan's mom.

I wish they'd bring Sal back. Loved that Italian dandy. Don't get why he was written off.

Maybe they'll bring him back now that they don't service Lucky Strike anymore. But I doubt it.

The idiot doctor is off the show, and I'm pretty sure Joan's words were final since she dug up the rape scene.

On the other hand, I'm completely unsure how Draper pulls off looking that good with a cold, although I've drank myself out of a fever recently. We've all been talking about how Megan has been the practical sort, but then she has this misconception he has always been a saint?!

Things are going too fast for the Ginsburg character. How he went from unemployed to making a pitch in front of Butler (which Cosgrove ranked the same as Topaz so small fry) is beyond me. It must be leading somewhere.

The best part for me was when Peggy swindled $400 from Sterling. She has some balls to be behaving like that with someone whose name is on the front of the building. Day and night difference from Season 1 Peggy. And the thing is she seems very comfortable in that role now. I'm still unsure how Sterling missed a whole week. Ponds is gone. He has no other clients than Mohawk. Obviously, he's no longer stalking Campbell. So he drank the whole week away till Friday 5pm? He's going to become more impotent than Cooper soon.

I noticed the peak fit awkwardly. I wondered if it was BR product placement.

I know Weiner had a dispute over product placement, maybe he capitulated.

Roger isn't really used to doing new work. He had Lucky Strike as his only job for literally his entire career. Now he has to learn new stuff and he's not up to it, so he just bribes people. They're not even afraid of him, so he gets reamed in the process. Having Harry and then Peggy fleece him was great. I liked Peggy's song and dance, especially the smug look and feet up on the desk.

sterling is the best character on the show. consistently funny, while everyone has devolved into emotional basketcases.

Don was too easy on the kid that kept talking at the pitch. I've had idiots keep talking after a close and reopen things. I hate them. They are stupid.
Does anyone else think the surgeon husband realizes the baby is Sterling's and this is what motivated re-upping his enlistment?

I dont' think so - he's just a weak selfish jackass. He's insecure, especially about his earlier career failings. The Army made him feel like a success and he's too afraid to go back to the real world, despite the fact he's leaving his family behind.

What? Joan is rad, she has balls of steel. She going to be running that agency in a few years.

Joan is fucking terrible, you guys. She's the type of person who intimidates her way to respect, because objectively, she offers nothing but a suitable body for clinical back pain trials. She's the worst sort of "modern" woman in that she demands special treatment and attention without any credible attribute that might warrant it. Her character will probably get broken down this season and she'll be exposed for the empty blouse she is. She has nothing if she doesn't have your balls in her mason jar.

Peggy is 100x the gal Joan is.

I am finding this season disappointing.

Seems to have lost the plot - literally!

They don't show Joan doing a lot of useful work, but if you listen to guys like Lane (and Don iirc), she actually does a lot of good work for the firm. It's all on the administrative end, but that storyline of Joan following the "old" path of maxing out the opportunities of being a secretary and Peggy following the new path was examined in one of the earlier seasons.

I don't like the use of dream sequences...it's an easy cop out. Oh look Don's cheating again...oh look he's murdering this spiteful bitch...LOL JUST KIDDING.

Not a crazy exciting episode, given that the most exciting thing never actually happened, but it's only the 3rd episode....things should be picking up quick.
