Ha. Thank you. Im pretty sure the place I bought them called the colour midnight...which I thought strange because they're light versus dark (which midnight invokes). Obviously they didn't have the original box and it didn't matter enough to me to bother EG over it..but still nice to know after all these years. 😅
I can see why some think that the colour is “Cloud Antique” but I am sure it is “Midnight”. Midnight is oddly named as it is in fact a washed out blue colour with only the burnished parts (toe and heel) being darker.

😅😅😅...thanks...I'll get a good laugh when I send them to EG for re-soles and they send them back in a box labeled with a 3rd entirely different color. 🤪. Until then I'll just enjoy wearing them no matter... though I have a feeling that you're correct. Hard to believe Leathersoul Hawaii would get that wrong..

If your experience is like mine, they’ll come back from a recraft, not only with the wrong colour written on the dark green box, but the wrong model name too! They get very creative in the repairs department it seems 😂

I believe you're right, I took a look and it seems that the colour is in fact Midnight, whereas Cloud looks more brownish. Also remembering to be surprised as I saw the colour so named, as it's faily light. Maybe a midnight with full moon.

Thanks for finding the photos. I could swear I looked it up previously and couldnt find anything. So yes..my Oundles are most definitely midnight (albeit midnight after 8 years of use 🙃). And as misery loves company.. happy that I wasn't the only one EG confused with their naming scheme..😁

So I've reached a dilemma in my MTO loafer order. I'm split between the Winchelsea in Dark Oak Antique and the Pimlico in Espresso Aniline for my first order:

On one hand, I love the piecrusting of the Winchelsea and the patina of the Dark Oak. The slightly lighter colour is probably more versatile. Does anyone know if the Dark Oak is a crust leather?

But on the other hand, the Pimlico is just such a smart classic design that reminds me of old bespoke samples from places like JLSJ and the old school Aniline calf is just such a perfect fit for that vibe. I also really like the idea that any patina it develops will be my own.

Eventually, I am sure I will end up with both. 😂

My preference goes to the Winchelsea, as I love that hand-stitching, but, honestly, you can't go wrong with either.

I bought these today, my tenth Edward Green pair. 🎂

It seems like the plans for EG to release a black Harrow on 184 are now off so this made my decision quite easy here.

They will be my second pair of black loafers because I am abusing my Belgravias quite a lot with all sorts of odd jacket/trouser combos. This should do me for a good while, the new prices hurt quite a lot.

Very nice! What made you pick these over the London grain in the end?

Good question. Probably because of their versatility. The smooth calf can do more formal and casual outfits equally well, for example, these can be worn appropriately either with a full suit or with odd jacket/trouser combinations. Whereas the London grain would have been only reserved for wearing with separates. But also I've got a dark brown London grain and I think in comparison the black version is a little dull.

Also, the London Grain pair in my size in the shop was clearly made more recently and I think was suffering from the same lasting issues as some of the other shoes I'd had, it felt a bit too snug, unlike these.

I really like the black leather Piccadilly. I bought the unlined Piccadilly in black delapre a year ago, and while it's nice, the basic black leather lined Piccadilly is much preferred and I wear it much more.

I do like the black Harrow on the 61 last too but I think I'm over unlined shoes.
