Haven't gotten to the EG boots just yet, but here's the Tudor boot (apologies in advance - I realize this is EG appreciation):

I just got a nice package in the mail today - finally scored a pair of EG Halifax/RLPL Brendon in dark oak on the 89 last.
I thought my Lobb Tudor boots in parisian brown museum calf were the most aesthetically pleasing boot I'd ever wear but now I don't know . . .

comparison between the two?

It's a Chelsea boot-not much too beat as far as look and style is concerned.

As far as the leathers go, Parisian Brown museum calf is really something, but the burnishing on EG's dark oak at the toe box and back quarters - it really is exquisite.

But you're right - as far as styles go, there's no contest.

Just an Aussie blowing off but none of these "chelsea boots" from these flash companies can hold a candle to you basic RM Williams boots. They all lack that certain mojo that you get in the Aussie version.

IMHO of course.

How are you comparing rm Williams with JL? It's apples and oranges. Nothing against rmw but I would only wear them with jeans and the jls with wool dress trousers

more like comparing washington apple vs. organic fuji apples. same things, and rmw shape are pretty elegant too...

Exactly! If you wear chelsea boots you want to have your mojo workin' not poncing around in 'wool dress trousers'.
