I have purchased a couple of pair of shoes from Bill in the past, and I have to say that I always found him to be honest and upfront about whether the shoes are seconds or not, and the defect in the shoe if they are. The only issue I have with him is that he will only ship via mail. I had a package from him stuck in customs for a month, which made me a little leery. As for his price, if he has a shoe that you want I'd prefer to order from him, get it for less than retail, and not have to wait 6-10 months for EG to make and send the shoe.

I too have found him honest. Further, it is my understanding he will decrease his ebay price if you are willing to do a direct Paypal purchase.

Solid Seller - I have had multiple purchases from Bill.
No one has a gun to their head , to buy from him.
What's with all the whining?

I have to say I was very impressed by the selection available as well as the customer service, very friendly people, couldn't do enough to help and the 'store' had a nice selection of shoes available.

I went there primarily to find a Double Monk, the Westminster, in particular, and to my surprise they had exactly what I was looking for and a great fit.

Very happy with my purchase. I had a discussion about Factory sales, and they normally have 2 per year, but are discussing the possibility of an additional one depending on stock.

If you get the chance I'd recommend a visit.

Beautiful your purchase. Also I really like the double buckle. I must say the service is very professional and high EG. Also because for me the quality of a product can also be measured by the service that is offered.

i find it ironic that nikola would call someone out for not accepting his 50 euro to proxy so that he could in turn save 300GBP. Inherently, id imagine those that can afford $800-1200 shoes, cant afford to be bothered by a 50 euro proxy offer. SMH

LOL!

The reason was supposed to be that EG a couple of years ago increased their prices for seconds to try and stop all the eBay seller (or so I've been told).

This is all very confusing...

Sadly I find these type of post can be so misleading to the general public.

Sir, to clear any confusion all you have to do is, buy a ticket and fly to London Heathrow, then get a train to central London, change and take a train to Northampton, then from the station take a taxi to the factory shop, buy your shoes and return back the same way. You will know all the prices and you will also be able to choose for yourself.

My only advice is to make sure they keep your shoes a side for you if they can do something like that otherwise it may be a well wasted trip unless you then plan to visit the shop in London and buy your shoes.

I only know of one person who did all this but he rented out a car from the airport and drove to the factory just to find absolutely nothing he liked were in his size, make sure before you go they have what you want.

The two times I have been to the factory shop I find it is all a matter of luck. The other thing I noticed is that some of the people there were walking out empty handed just because they said they could not find any cheap bargains, God know what they were looking for!

E-bay is still full of EG shoes for sale so if there is was any price increase it has really not made any difference.

RE: factory shop

My return train ticket from London Euston was just 12 GBP. Purchased a week in advance. If you're flying to London just to shop in Northampton there are fairly cheap buses straight from Heathrow.

I'm cheap so I walked to all the factory shops. Didn't take cabs or anything. It was just fine.

I'm pretty sure you could just show up at EG without an appointment, but definitely worth calling beforehand. Lady said people visit every day. I ran into Japanese enthusiasts at every single shop.
