Thank you Leaves, I thought this may be the consensus but I could have been mistaken!

It's a new one on me, too.  Very nice! This colour of suede is something I really want to add to my rotation.

Humm! Inspired by the post and shoes by --- MoosicPa ---- I am thinking of a pair of Westminster in Hawthorne Suede on the 888 or 202 last with rubber sole! The rubber sole may give the shoe a bit more of a casual look.

I may pay a visit to the shop on Saturday to enquire!

Nice pickup. Is Hawthorne suede a relatively new color?
Hit them with a bit of Saphir Invulner, and subsequent cleaning will be a breeze. Cheers.

Thanks, I'm not sure it may be a new color for EG, but the Claydon model has been around for a while. I have one in antique oak calf I picked-up about 3/4 years ago. If you check out the Skyvalet website, they have a picture of this model there.

Thank you. I will take a picture and post it later of the Hawthorn suede next to the EG Tobacco suede for comparison.

Thank you Roger, I really lie the color of the Hawthorn, it's a deeper hue than the tobacco suede.

^ between the philip II's and lord knows how many patek's, it is safe to say you are officially killing it in an understated elegant fashion. Well done.

This color resembles polo brown suede.

Thank you! Very kind.  Yes, I'd like to think I'm "adventurous" but I still want to keep designs and color relatively low key ("understated").  Pateks don't scream "LOOK AT ME" either.  But they do elicit that growing sense of wonder if you know what you're looking at.

Do you wear the same size in both lasts?

I can't say for certain as I haven't tried the 64 Last on in person yet. This won't happen until I receive my boots. However since I have the 82 Last in D and it's snug with thin socks, I figured with thick socks I would probably be Ok in a 64 Last in in the same length but in E.

It really is a nice color. EG's nutmeg suede is wonderful too.

Thank you kind sir. Though, now I'm a little confused. Affiliate vendor Skoaktiebolaget is doing a MTO for a Galway in Rosewood Country Calf and lined with shearling in the vamp not the shaft (spoilered link below), when I asked for confirmation they indicated that it has always been in the vamp not the shaft. I guess I'll follow up with them again to confirm. Perhaps Edward Green gives you the option as to where to put the shearling?

By the way how do you find the shearling in the shaft of the boot in terms of usefulness/warmth? I would think having it in the vamp to warm your feet and toes to be more useful.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

We are now taking pre-orders so that clients can book their pair in advance for this special make up. All sizes and widths can be ordered. Delivery is September 2014.
Our version will be made up in the so-called veldtschoen construction and it will be shearling lined. We will use the 64 last and the default width is E (normal width). If you require a different width, please e-mail us and we will arrange for this. We will use a Ridgeway sole for these country boots. The shearling lining is in the vamp and the edges of the shaft only (not the whole shaft).

The deposit is 25% of the full price. The remaining 75% will be billed through PayPal before delivery. Delivery is planned for September 2014. The full price is 8900 SEK (7120 SEK ex VAT for clients outside the EU).

Pre-order now:
