My local Brooks Brothers has a slate captoe that is just tempting me no end.

^^^ The Galway is such a terrific boot. Wish I owned four of them.

I would hazard a guess of 9/9.5 D

You need to really try both E and F and see what works best for you.

ncQCpv As far as last go I agree that 202 and 606 are widest standard fitting

the 888 and 82 are narrower.

Yes, the difficulty is that both of my local retailers carry nothing wider than E - and not an abundance of those - D seems quite popular.  It fits me okay in the 888, but I've had more miss than hit with the 82.  Have not tried the 202 yet.

BB's pictures are not the best. Their website shows the Asquith in grey which may be slate.

Those look great.  Perfect for this time of year, especially with the flannel.

Damn. If only their pics were better. It looks brownish on the website (or maybe it's my phone).

Their pics suck - but the shoes are awesome.

Just looked at the site and (obviously) they do not have my size. It looks more cloud though than slate. My Oundles in slate is VERY dark gray.

I believe somebody was able to special order a size in EG for BB model. They've also started allowing the corporate discount on them. The price is pretty good with lasted shoe trees.
