Love the look of that Westminster in maple but its not what I need just now and I was trying to show some restraint. That held out until I nipped in to the shop on my way past yesterday. They've definitely added some more shoes to the sale. There was a gorgeous austerity brogue on what the sales assistant said was a sample last in a 9. Think it may have been in dark oak but it didn't quite work out for me. Half a size too small and the last was very chiselled. They also had a pair of shortwings in black that I may go back for but I came away with a pair of Ladbroke in dark oak antique. Just what I needed pretty much.

These are mine:

And compared with their elder brothers:

Coffee suede on 202 and Dark Oak antique on 82 without medallion.

This is the one I later saw as Weymouth in a store:

Is this the Chelsea-lookalike you were sent first as Weymouth II?

I don't get it, because as far as I've seen, when EG use roman numerals after a model name, it's to indicate a variation on the basic model. IMO this way EG do their utmost to confuse matters.

I thought I would add to the wonderful photos already posted in this thread. So, here goes. The following are pics of my recently purchased EG Inverness' in dark oak and on the 888 last in F width. Almost straight out of the box - after some reno, cream and polish - and never worn. Enjoy and have a nice Sunday!

Congrats, great shoes (and pictures)! I also have the Inverness on Dark Oak - extremely versatile shoe. Probably my most used shoe when I come to think of it.

Interesting. What about the colour do you like? Does it look beige in person?

Haven't seen it in person but I'm a big fan of tan/light brown shoes. Works well with my wardrobe. I'd hazard a guess that it ages beautifully and develops a great patina over time too. Plus its a Westminister on the 888, one of the most gorgeous shoes around.

I just can't warm up to maple. The color seems too light for my taste. But it is certainly unique.
