Ah, I see. Not that it really matters, I suppose, since the end product is gorgeous. I guess the assumption is always to prefer a hand process, but maybe that's confirmation bias...

Just want to shout out to Robert at Edward Green. My Shanklin's laces were broken and I emailed EG couple of days ago asking about the replacement option. This morning Robert sent out a pair without any charges.

Seems the original Shanklin laces are prone to breaking easily. Robert helped me out as well a few weeks back

My Beaulieu laces frays pretty quickly too. Not sure if it's the eyelet or the laces but it seemed to happening to both sides.

Picked up another pair of EG at Jermyn St. :)

Congrats!
I really love the Beaulieu. I have a pair black but alas in the wrong size (UK7E), I really want to replace them with a pair in the correct size, but will have to wait until they sell.

Looking to pick up a pair of single tone Galways. Any recommendations on what would be the most versatile colour way? Also, is direct from EG the best place for purchase?

Dark oak. Or brown :)

I'd agree with Dark Oak if you are going for the 82 last and a sleeker look, but if you are wanting a country boot and are going for the Galway in the 64 last I'd be choosing Rosewood country calf (and did, I'm a man of my conviction!)
