Exactly like those of a brand new pair (I paid extra for the toe plates)

BTW, just dug out EG's email - repair charge is £205 + £40 shipping

Great results! How long did it take for the soles to wear out? Remember when you bought these and how much they have been into rotation per week?

^^ Did you buy them, new? 3 years x 1 wear per week seems awfully quick!

I don't know Chowkin's walking habits...but go I through soles like nothing...and I have a pretty big rotation... I got my Newcastle's around Jan/Feb 2014... they get a bit more than 1 once a week, let's say 6 wears per month (minus 2-3 months in the summer)...  and they are developing the "replacement time circles" already.

We're pretty similar in terms of wearing down the soles of our shoes then.

I don't know if it's my gait. After about 50 wears water would seep through the soles of my leather shoes.
