7.5E will likely fit close to 7F. I've gone up half a size in many brands, and then compensated by going down in width. You get a touch more room in the length, but the width ends up being about the same on balance.
I find the 888 last to be a touch narrower in the toe box than 82. It's supposedly just the chisel toe version of the round toe 82, but I find the sides of the shoe press up a bit more against my pinky toe. I think in the past, some people who wear the 82 have reported they can't wear the 888, although others will have to chime in to confirm. I take the same size in both lasts, but the 82 is more comfortable.
In my experience I found that the 888 in 7.5E UK gives me a tad more room for my pinky than the 82 in 7.5E UK. Although, given my right foot is slightly larger than my left, I only experience this issue there.
On a related note, how much is the norm for feet to expand during the day? Some days I find the shoes really tight by the evening, especially the ones on 82, both in instep and width (read squished pinky). The shoes fit really well when I put them on in the morning. Is this something everyone experiences, or is this something I should perhaps get a doctor's advice on?
