I attended the trunk show at Leffot a week or so ago and was able to talk at length with some of the folks at EG. I was told that all new production models have been converted to resin lasts. You're able to identify which shoes were lasted on resin by the production numbers written under the sizing tag within your shoes. If your number is below ~95k there is a good chance your shoes were lasted on the wooden variant. Shoes lasted on wood will be tighter, how tight is dependent on your own fitment preference...but for an individual like myself who prefers his shoes to fit like a wetsuit, the difference between the two is perfect vs. too tight. Additionally, if your production number is greater than 95K, there is a good chance your shoes were lasted on resin - these shoes do tend to fit a bit larger all around. I've personally confirmed this on both the 606 and the 82 last. If you have any questions about when/how your shoes were lasted, email EG directly and they'll be more than happy to help.

This is a picture of me during a proper fitting. I cannot stress enough how important this is and what a difference it makes. Personal experience is paramount; you'll never truly know what you're missing unless you either put the time in or waste a significant amount of money playing the trial and error game. The gamble is not worth the convience of Internet shopping. But do what you will...

Very nice & thank you for sharing this with us. So what is the verdict as far as your size?

So it looks like my Utah Dovers will be welcoming my daughter into the world this evening!

Edit to add: my wife would crush my skull if she knew I was posting on SF right now.

Congrats!!!!

On another note my shoes are over the 95K number so maybe the previous one I tried on was the older last. Makes a lot of sense

Interesting notes on the lasts. What to do when it comes time to resole?

Does anyone have any idea as to when the resin lasts began to be used.

All my recent Brook brother purchase shoe & boot are above 95k. Explains why I dropped half size down from my normal uk size.
